Commonly known as the Trailing Jade Plant, this succulent is grown for its spreading foliage. It carries fleshy, green leaves, and may develop purple tones during hot periods. This South African native will typically grow to 10 cm tall and 20 cm wide, and grows best in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is largely drought tolerant and does not like being over-watered. The Trailing Jade Plant is often used as a houseplant but can equally be grown outdoors provided it is protected from frost. It is well suited to rock gardens, Mediterranean themed gardens, pool areas, or being maintained in a container.
