Jasminum polyanthum is a climber that produces masses of beautiful, red-pink and white, highly scented flowers through spring and summer. It features rich, green leaves on a densely growing vine which provide a lovely contrast to the flowers. This evergreen is very vigorous and can grow up to 6 m tall and the same wide when it has something to climb. With some trimming this climber can easily be controlled and even be grown in a pot with an upright support. It grows best in a full sun on a well-drained site that is protected from heavy frost. This climber is ideal for growing on a fence and looks spectacular when grown over an archway or on a trellis. It is well suited to cottage gardens and for planting around outdoor living areas where it should be positioned upwind so the fragrance can be enjoyed.
