“Tasty Blue” is a Blueberry variety that produces good yields of firm and juicy, medium sized fruit. The berries have a lovely flavour and ripen in late summer. New foliage is blue-green, matures to mid-green, then develops red-orange tones in autumn before falling. In warmer climates it may remain evergreen, however. This shrub typically grows to 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is tolerant of cool climates, though frosts in late spring can reduce yields. For this reason, it is more commonly grown in warmer climates. “Tasty Blue” is commonly grown for its delicious fruit and often included into a mixed planting or maintained in a container. Planting several varieties is recommended to ensure a continuous supply of fruit over a long period.
