Peachcots are a cross between a peach and an apricot. The result is a delicious, smooth skinned, golden fruit with flesh that is sweet, juicy, and firmly textured. This deciduous tree will typically reach 5 m tall and 3 m wide, but can be trimmed as necessary. Best yields are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered, fertile site, with good soil moisture during dry periods. It is tolerant of cold climates and frost, though late frosts will reduce the yield. In NZ gardens Peachcots are often added to a mixed planting, grown as a specimen, or planted specifically for fruit production.
