Coprosma kirkii Details

Coprosma kirkii (aka Coprosma x Kirkii), commonly known as Kirk’s Coprosma, is a handsome and popular, NZ native, ground cover plant. Its horizontal and slender stems, and small, olive-green leaves make this a lovely plant. Translucent, white berries are produced among the branches in autumn. It typically grows to 80 cm tall and 2 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. This Coprosma grows well on a wide range of soils and tolerates wind, coastal environments, moderate frost, and cool climates. It does grow best, however, when planted in a full sun position on a well-drained site. Coprosma kirkii is especially good for covering banks, including in coastal gardens, using as an attractive groundcover, maintaining in container, planting around the swimming pool area, or growing around the base of taller trees.
