“Lockwood de Forest” is a trailing variety of Rosemary that features petite, blue flowers through winter and spring. These are produced amidst the lush, dark green leaves. Both the flowers and foliage produce a lovely fragrance when crushed or brushed against. This evergreen typically grows to 30 cm tall and 1 m wide, and grows best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of coastal environments, moderate frost, and dry periods. “Lockwood de Forest” is a versatile plant that is ideal for using as a ground covering plant on a bank or the like, using to trail over a wall, or for planting around outdoor living areas such as pools. It is often used in Mediterranean and cottage gardens with the added advantage of providing a wonderful herb for cooking and garnishes.
