Westringia fruticosa, commonly known as Coastal Rosemary, is a fast growing, evergreen shrub in NZ gardens. It features narrow, grey-green leaves held densely on short stems. The foliage is adorned with small and dainty, white flowers year-round. It grows with a rounded shape to about 1 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods, moderate frost, coastal environments, and most soil conditions, barring extreme wet and dry. Westringia fruticosa is commonly included in a mixed planting, maintained in a container, planted around outdoor living areas, or included in coastal gardens.
