Westringia ‘Mundi’ is a variety of the commonly known, Coastal Rosemary, and is grown in NZ for its lovely foliage and great form. It grows as a spreading shrub with narrow, grey-green leaves held densely on short stems. The foliage is complemented with small and dainty, white flowers through spring and summer. This evergreen typically grows to 50 cm tall and 1.2m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of dry periods, moderate frost, and coastal environments. It will also grow in most soil conditions, barring the extremes of wet and dry. Westringia ‘Mundi’ is commonly used as a groundcover, included in coastal gardens, grown as a border plant, planted around pool and other outdoor living areas, or used anywhere a hardy and attractive plant is required. It is easy to grow, low maintenance, and very rewarding.
