Liriope 'Evergreen Giant' Details

Liriope muscari ‘Evergreen Giant’ is grown for its impressive foliage and lovely flowers. This herbaceous perennial grows as a clump and produces strap like, dark green leaves. Stems rise above the foliage through summer and autumn bearing masses of light purple flowers that are long lasting and blend wonderfully with the foliage. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It tolerates cool climates, moderate frost, dry periods, and coastal environments. During winter it may die back in colder regions to regrow in spring when conditions warm, but otherwise it remains evergreen. Liriope ‘Evergreen Giant’ is an excellent choice for adding to a mixed planting, including in a border, or planting around outdoor living areas. This plant is used extensively in NZ landscapes and gardens because of the hardiness, versatility, and great appearance year-round.
