Buxus sempervirens ‘Graham Blandy’ is a variety of the commonly known, Boxwood, and is renowned for its columnar growth habit and dark green foliage. The small leaves are held densely off short stems as it grows to 2.5 m tall and 60 cm wide. Best results with this shrub are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. It does well on most soil types, except extreme wet and dry, and will tolerate frost and cool climates. This box hedge is an architectural plant and makes an excellent specimen when planted by itself or in clusters. It is often trimmed into an attractive, narrow hedge, with plants spaced 50 cm apart, used in a mixed planting to provide height, or planted as a backdrop for smaller plants. Buxus ‘Graham Blandy’ is a popular plant among landscapers because of its versatility and ease to grow.
