Camellia ‘Fairy Blush’ is a beautiful, evergreen shrub that produces bright pink buds that open into showy, single, pink flowers that are lightly fragrant. These spectacular blooms contrast well with glossy, green foliage and continue through winter and spring. This is a relatively compact variety that typically reaches 1.5 m tall and 1 m wide. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. It is tolerant of cool and humid climates as well as moderate frost once established. In NZ gardens Camellia ‘Fairy Blush’ is commonly grown as specimen, clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants. It is also well suited to being maintained in a container. For a Camellia hedge, space plants 50 cm apart.
