Corokia macrocarpa is a NZ native shrub that features glossy, sage-green leaves which are silvery beneath. Masses of small, yellow flowers are produced in spring and result in red berries that are great for attracting birds. It typically grows to 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. This Corokia is very tolerant of dry and exposed conditions, including salt winds but intolerant of wet soils. It will, however, grow best in a full sun position on a well-drained site. Corokia macrocarpa makes for a great shelter plant and clips into an excellent hedge. It is a fantastic plant for adding contrast and variety to the garden.
