“Blue Stars” is an evergreen shrub from the Hydrangea family and renowned for both its flowers and foliage. It becomes covered in showy clusters of blue flowers through spring and summer. These emerge from distinctive, white-pink flower buds and ultimately result in blue berries from late summer. It has attractive, dark green foliage and typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide. Best performance with this shrub is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site, thought it will tolerate moderate frost and dry periods. “Blue Stars” is commonly included in a mixed planting, grown as an informal hedge, planted around pool and other outdoor living areas, grown around the base of larger trees, or planted as a lovely backdrop for smaller plants.
