Gardenia augusta ‘Lace Lady’ is a beautiful, evergreen shrub with fantastic flowers. This plant is popular because of the exquisite, intensely fragrant, double, white blooms which are produced en masse from spring through autumn. The flowers contrast perfectly with the glossy, dark green foliage. It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, growing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of light frost only and requires shelter from wind. Gardenia ‘Lace Lady’ puts on the best displays when mass planted but is also effective for planting around outdoor living areas, adding to a mixed planting, maintaining in a container, or for including in a ‘tropical’ or “white” garden. Gardenias are a favourite among gardeners for both their versatility and impressive aesthetics.
