Grevillea ‘Ignite’, commonly known as Spider Flower, is a fast growing, dense shrub which is grown for its spikes of exquisite, bright red and yellow, spider-like flowers. These are held abreast of the fine, mid-green foliage. The flowers are produced from winter through spring and are great for attracting nectar feeding birds. It typically grows to 75 cm tall and 1 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. This evergreen performs best when grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is frost hardy and tolerant of both dry periods and coastal environments. Grevillea ‘Ignite’ is commonly included in mixed plantings, added to Mediterranean themed gardens, used for hedging, grown around pool and other living areas, or mass planted on a bank or the like for a magical display. It is also well suited to being maintained in a container or planted to brighten a dull spot in the garden.
