Commonly known as the Arabian Jasmine, this evergreen plant can be grown as a shrub or allowed to climb. It produces masses of beautiful and white, highly scented flowers through spring and summer. It features rich, green leaves which are held densely and provide a lovely contrast to the flowers. It can grow up to 4 m tall if it has something to climb, otherwise as a shrub it will be 60 cm tall and 1.5 m wide. It grows best in a sunny position, protected from heavy frost, and on a well-drained site. Arabian Jasmine is ideal for cottage and “white” gardens, planting around outdoor living areas, using as a groundcover, mass planting on a bank, allowing to climb a trellis, or maintaining in a container. It responds well to trimming and is best planted upwind to fill the area with fragrance.
