“Tango” is a deciduous shrub which is grown for its lovely flowers, foliage, and great form. Through summer it produces clusters of double, purple flowers in such abundance they literally transform the plant. The showy flowers are complemented by lush foliage which emerges lime green in spring, ages to mid-green in summer, then develops red, orange, and yellow tones in autumn before falling. It grows with an upright and rounded habit as it reaches 1.2 m tall and 80 cm wide. It can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this Crepe Myrtle are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and short periods of dry. “Tango” is commonly included in mixed plantings, added to cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used to brighten a dull space. This is a colourful plant that will bring a lot of pleasure.
