“China Pink” is an evergreen shrub grown for its spectacularly coloured flowers and foliage. It produces fragrant, pink flowers in winter which are both unusual and appealing. The foliage is oval, rich purple, and held densely on slender stems. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is hardy to moderate frost and will tolerate dry periods and coastal conditions. “China Pink” is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted around outdoor living areas, or grown for winter colour and fragrance. A mass planting either on a bank or as a groundcover looks sensational.
