“Fragrant Pearl” is a variety of Luculia grown for its clusters of beautiful and fragrant flowers. It produces large and showy clusters of the striking, white flowers through autumn. These are held above the dark green foliage, and together afford an outstanding display. It grows as a deciduous shrub to about 3 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. In warmer climates it may remain evergreen. Best growth and flowering with this variety is achieved when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and protected from heavy frosts. “Fragrant Pearl” is commonly used in mixed plantings, planted for autumn colour, added to cottage or “white” gardens, or planted anywhere the fragrance and beauty this plant affords can be enjoyed.
