Metrosideros excelsa ‘Vibrance’ is one of the brightest Pohutukawa varieties. It features large, bright, scarlet-coloured flowers with an orange glow in summer. It is an upright plant with a compact form and attractive grey-green foliage. Between both the flowers and the foliage, Metrosideros ‘Vibrance’ is a stunning plant, hence its popularity. It typically grows to 5 m tall and 3 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of poor soils, dry periods, coastal climates, and frost once established. This Pohutukawa is an excellent choice for coastal gardens, adding to a mixed planting, maintaining in a container, growing as a specimen, or trimming into a loose hedge.
