“Rogersii” is a handsome, evergreen shrub grown for its foliage and fragrant flowers. It features large and glossy, dark green leaves held densely off short stems. The foliage is adorned with clusters of small and showy, red-pink buds that open to reveal cream-white flowers through spring. The flowers result in glossy, bright red berries which persist for many months. It grows with a rounded shape to about 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site that does not dry out. It will tolerate moderate frost though should be protected while establishing. This Skimmia is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted around outdoor living areas, or grown as an informal hedge.
