This mid-sized, deciduous tree grows with an upright and open habit, carrying lime-green leaves which develop brilliant yellow tones in autumn before falling. The new stems are golden and will often develop pink-red tones in winter. It typically grows to 12 m tall and 7 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will also grow well on heavy soils and is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and coastal conditions. “Wades Gold” is an excellent tree for growing as a specimen, planting in clusters, or using in street and avenue plantings.
