“Elizabeth Lustgarten” is a variety of Cornus grown for its impressive flowering and attractive form. Large and showy, white flowers adorn the tree from spring through summer and are followed by red berries in autumn which are great for attracting birds. It grows with an upright, multi-trunked habit and carries pendulous branches. The leaves are dark green and develop shades of red in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 3 m tall and 2.5 m wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and coastal environments. This tree makes an excellent specimen tree and is great for including in mixed plantings, for lining an entranceway, using in a cottage garden, or maintaining in a courtyard garden.
