It features narrow leaves which emerge deep green in spring and then develop stunning purple and tones in autumn before falling. This tree grows rapidly with a narrow habit to about 8 m tall and 4 m wide. It can be trimmed as necessary and grows best when planted in full sun a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods, cool climates, frost, and coastal environments. “Purple Spire” is commonly grown as a specimen, used in avenue plantings, planted around entranceways, or included in mixed plantings.
