Yucca gigantea is an evergreen shrub which is often grown indoors as a potted plant. It produces a crown of mid-green, spear shaped leaves borne off the trunk and tends not to have any branches. It can reach 4 m tall and 3 m wide with good growing conditions, but can easily be trimmed as necessary which will stimulate new stems. Best performance with this plant is achieved when it is positioned in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate dry periods, some wind, and moderate shade but must have frost protection which makes it well-suited for growing indoors. This Yucca is commonly included in a mixed planting, grown as specimen, planted around outdoor living areas, or grown indoors. It suits being placed in a corner as a specimen or for office foyers.
