Hakonechloa macra Alboaurea, commonly known as Golden Japanese Forest Grass, is a lovely ornamental grass. It features lush foliage that is variegated golden yellow with green stripes. It grows as a large and soft looking mound to about 50 cm tall and the same wide. Hakonechloa Alboaurea is commonly used to line pathways or waterways, added to a mixed or border planting, planted around outdoor living areas, grown around the base of large trees, mass planted either as a groundcover or on a bank, or simply maintained in a container.
