The foliage is silver-grey with a soft looking appearance and becomes adorned with clusters of yellow flowers atop slender stems in summer. The flowers complement the foliage perfectly as it grows to 60 cm tall and 1 m wide. Helichrysum italicum is commonly included cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like, or mass planted as a groundcover on a bank.
