Tips for Growing Tropical Plants in New Zealand

Tropical plants love warmth, humidity, and rich soil. Choose spots protected from harsh winds and plant in spring or early summer, once the risk of frost has passed. Most thrive with regular watering (but not soggy roots) and benefit from monthly feeding during the growing season. Consider mulching to keep moisture levels stable and encourage lush growth. Indoors, ensure good light and occasional misting for happy, healthy leaves.
