Camellia Gay Sue is an evergreen shrub renowned for its semi-double, frilly, white flowers. Masses of the mildly fragrant flowers are produced through autumn and contrast well with the glossy, green foliage. It grows relatively compactly with an upright habit to about 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide. Camellia Gay Sue is commonly grown as specimen, clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, used in cottage gardens, included in “white” gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants.
