Hydrangea petiolaris, commonly known as the Climbing Hydrangea, is a hardy, deciduous climber. It clings to walls and the like using twining stems and aerial roots. It carries dark green, serrated leaves which are complemented in summer with clusters of mildly fragrant, white flowers. Hydrangea petiolaris is an extremely versatile plant that will provide year-round interest. It is ideal for growing against building walls, fences or the trunks of large trees, or allowed to sprawl over unsightly tree stumps or rock piles.
