Large and showy, single, white flowers adorn the tree in spring and are followed by red berries in autumn. It grows with a narrow, upright form carrying dark green leaves held on pendulous branches. As autumn progresses the leaves develop impressive shades of red before falling as it grows to 6 m tall and 3 m wide.
