Daphne odora, commonly known as Winter Daphne, Fragrant Daphne, or Spurge Laurel, is a medium-sized shrub grown for its lovely foliage and highly fragrant flowers. It carries leathery, dark green leaves which are complemented beautifully with perfumed, pink flowers from late winter into spring. It grows with a rounded shape to about 1 m tall and the same wide. Daphne odora is commonly planted around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like, included in mixed and border plantings, maintained in a container, added to cottage gardens, or planted close to a window or door so the fragrance can fill the house.
