Lonicera nitida, commonly known as the Boxleaf Honeysuckle, is a hardy shrub often used instead of Buxus as a hedge. It carries dense, upright branches which host small and glossy, dark green leaves. New growth has attractive, purple-black edges as it grows to 2 m tall and 1 m wide. Lonicera nitida makes for a lovely backdrop for smaller plants and is commonly trimmed into a hedge and used for topiary.

Viburnum Hedge Master is an evergreen shrub grown for its lush and colourful foliage. The glossy foliage emerges red and ages to become dark green. The leaves are held densely off sturdy stems.
