Metrosideros excelsa Maori Princess is a lovely and popular variety of Pohutukawa due to both its flowering and great form. Clusters of showy, bright crimson flowers cover the tree in summer, and are complemented with glossy green foliage. This NZ native evergreen grows with an upright and broadly to about 10 m tall and 6 m wide. Small, white flowers are borne in abundance through summer and are great for attracting birds and bees. This evergreen typically grows to 8 m tall and 4 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Kunzea robusta is commonly grown for shelter, clipped into a slender hedge, or used in native revegetation and riparian plantings.
