Hellebore
“White Tutu” is a variety of Hellebore grown for its amazing flowers and foliage. The leaves are large, dark green, and have a lush appeal. The foliage is adorned through winter and spring with showy, white flowers which have purple freckles. These are held on slender stems above the foliage in a pendulous manner. This herbaceous perennial grows as a clump to about 50 cm tall and the same wide. It grows best on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun but must be protected from severe frosts. It may die back during winter but will regrow when conditions warm. “White Tutu” is a great plant for cottage and tropical gardens, adding to mixed plantings, border plantings, or planting for winter colour. A mass planting produces a truly outstanding display with this plant.
