Picea glauca Conica, commonly known as the Alberta Spruce, is a conifer grown for its fine foliage and conical shape. This evergreen produces fine, needle like foliage which is soft, bright green, and aromatic when crushed. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 1 m wide at 10 years of age. Sarcococca orientalis is an evergreen shrub grown for its foliage and fragrant flowers. It carries glossy, dark green, leathery leaves which are adorned with tiny, fragrant, pale pink and white flowers from late winter through spring. The flowers are followed by glossy, black berries that may persist into the following winter. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide.
