Pachystegia insignis, commonly known as the Marlborough Rock Daisy, is a desirable, NZ native shrub. Its appeal comes from the remarkable, white, daisy flowers produced in summer. The flowers are complemented by the large and leathery, dark green leaves with a thin white margin, and a fine layer of felt on the underside as it grows to 50 cm tall and 1 m wide. Pachystegia insignis is commonly included in a mixed or border planting, used in rock gardens, added to coastal plantings, used in native plantings, or mass planted either as a groundcover or on a bank. It is also well suited to planting around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like.
