Prunus yedoensis, is a variety of Flowering Cherry that features masses of fragrant, single, white flowers which are borne before the foliage emerges. The foliage emerges a fresh green colour in spring, ages to become dark green, then develops yellow and orange tones in autumn before falling. It grows with a broad and somewhat spreading habit to about 5 m tall and 4 m wide. Prunus yedoensis is a stunning tree makes a fine addition to any garden and is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or used in avenue plantings.
