Buxus and Ilex in the front garden
This formal front yard has a mixed planting of evergreen shrubs which can be used as a border, hedging, standards or topiary. Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote' (English Lavender) adds some colour with its vibrant deep purple flowers, Ilex x altaclerensis 'Golden King' stands out with its variegated foliage and bright red berries during the winter months, and Buxus sempervirens (Boxwood) makes for an outstanding compact formal hedge.
