Morus Alba Details

Morus Alba is a variety of the commonly known Mulberry Tree and is grown for both its fruit and ornamental value. It carries glossy, mid-green, heart shaped leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. Flowers produced in spring result in small, white, edible fruits in summer which birds also love. It typically grows to 6 m tall and 4 m wide and can be contained with trimming. Best performance with this tree is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates though a late frost in spring will cause yield loss and can injure plants. Morus Alba is commonly grown as a shade tree, added to a mixed planting, or simply grown for fruit production.
