Morus nigra Details

Morus nigra, commonly known as the Black Mulberry Tree, is a deciduous tree often grown for its fruit. It grows with a spreading habit and tends to becomes crooked and gnarled with time which can provide additional interest. It will grow to about 8 m tall and spread 10 m but can be contained with trimming as necessary. Best performance with this tree is achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates though a late frost in spring will cause yield loss and can injure plants.
