Morus nigra Chelsea is a variety of the commonly known, Mulberry Tree, which is a deciduous, fruiting tree. It produces tasty fruit that are rarely found in shops. In spring it produces small white flowers that result in the large, black, juicy berries in summer which can be eaten fresh. The foliage is mid-green and develops yellow tones in autumn before falling, and it typically grows to 8 m tall and 10 m wide. Morus nigra Chelsea is commonly grown as a shade tree, added to a mixed planting, or simply grown for fruit production.
