Punica granatum, commonly known as Pomegranate, is a shrub grown for its flowers and delicious fruit. Upright branches carry large, orange-red blooms in summer which then result in large, red fruit in autumn. The foliage on this deciduous shrub emerges bronze then ages to green before yellowing and falling. In warmer climates it may remain evergreen as it grows to about 1.5 m tall and the same wide. Punica granatum is tolerant of frosts and cool climates. Use this Pomegranate in mixed plantings, for fruit production, or trim into a hedge.

Punica granatum, commonly known as Pomegranate, is a shrub grown for its flowers and delicious fruit. Upright branches carry large, orange-red blooms in summer which then result in large, red fruit in autumn. The fruit are often used for making pomegranate juice. The foliage on this deciduous shrub emerges bronze then ages to green before yellowing and falling. In warmer climates it will remain evergreen. It will grow to about 1.5 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. It grows best in a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. Punica granatum is tolerant of frosts and cool climates. Use this Pomegranate in mixed plantings, for fruit production, or trim into a hedge.
