Galanthus Atkinsii Details

“Atkinsii” is a lovely variety of Galanthus that features white, nodding flowers. The inner petals have a green mark in the shape of a “v” on them. The showy blooms are borne on slender stems through late winter above the dark green foliage. This perennial typically grows to 20 cm tall and 10 cm wide, performing best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry, frost, cool climates, and will die back during these times to regrow when conditions start to warm. “Atkinsii” is commonly included in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, used in border plantings, planted around the base of deciduous trees and shrubs, or maintained in a container. A mass planting is a must with this variety with bulbs spaced 10 cm apart and planted 5 cm deep.
