“Bluebells Blue” is a bulbous plant grown for its two-toned blue flowers which are borne en masse through spring. The showy blooms are borne off a slender stem that can rise to 50 cm and are complemented with dark green foliage. This perennial typically grows to 30 cm tall and 15 cm wide, performing best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry, frost, cool climates, and will die back during these times to regrow when conditions start to warm. “Bluebells Blue” is commonly included in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, used in border plantings, included in woodland gardens, or planted around the base of deciduous trees and shrubs. A mass planting is a must with this variety with plants spaced 15-25 cm apart.
