Leucojum autumnale is a delightful plant grown for its bell-shaped, white flowers. The showy blooms are borne on sturdy stems during late summer and early autumn above the fine, grass-like foliage. This perennial typically grows to 20 cm tall and 6 cm wide, performing best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry, frost, cool climates, and will die back during these times to regrow when conditions start to warm. This variety is commonly included in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, used in border plantings, planted around the base of deciduous trees and shrubs, or maintained in a container. A mass planting is a must with this variety with bulbs spaced 3-4 cm apart and planted 5 cm deep.
