Century Plant, Maguey, American Aloe
Agave americana, commonly known as Century Plant, Maguey, or American Aloe, features broad, powder-blue leaves that radiate outwards as it grows to 1.5 m tall and 2 m wide. A long stem often emerges during summer from the centre of the plant to bear clusters of orange flowers. Agave americana makes for an attractive specimen and is great for including in mixed plantings, using in rock gardens, adding to Mediterranean themed gardens, or planting to stop pedestrians passing through an area.
