Echinopsis oxygona, commonly known as the Easter Lily Cactus, is a widely grown and popular cactus. It features slender, upright stems, that are olive-green in colour. Showy, pink flowers are often borne during summer and only last 2-3 days. It typically grows with an upright habit to just 40 cm tall and 20 cm wide, and performs best when grown on a well-drained site in full sun. It is tolerant of drought, moderate frost, coastal environments, and some wind, but is not tolerant of wet soils. Echinopsis oxygona is commonly maintained in a container or included in Mediterranean and rock gardens.
