Lemon Genoa Details

Genoa is a variety of lemon that bears fruit through summer. The fruit are green-yellow and have a sour taste which makes them great for drinks and cooking. The glossy, dark green foliage provides a lovely backdrop to the small, white flowers in spring. This heavy cropping shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide, but can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this variety is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, protected from frost, though it will generally tolerate moderate frost once established. The Genoa Lemon is commonly included in a mixed planting or maintained either in a container or in a courtyard garden.
