Grapefruit Star Ruby Details

Star Ruby is a variety of grapefruit that produces good yields of medium sized, golden coloured fruit that are mostly seedless. The flesh is red, juicy, and has a pleasant flavour. The fruit are ripe through winter and spring and often used as a breakfast fruit, for juicing, or marmalade. It grows densely with glossy, dark green foliage to about 3 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this variety is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, protected from heavy frost, though it will tolerate moderate frost once established. Star Ruby is commonly grown for fruit production but also makes a lovely addition to a mixed planting and can be maintained in a large container.
